So went off to Saturday morning's soccer game - we had to be there by 8.15am in a township about an hour and a half away, and I compromised on this occasion by agreeing to stop halfway to buy McDonalds for breakfast and coffee!!! That was our spare budget blown, but oh so worth it for the coffee!!
Which led me to the conversation with the boy child about my attitudes towards money - when spending money outweighs the benefits of saving money. It's a personal decision for everyone, and yesterday morning, that was mine. Turned out to be good, as he was asked to stay to play an extra game, and had plenty of energy for both!!
This means I am back to menu planning for the week. It's early on Sunday morning, but I'll be back later with the plan. Looking forward to our new challenge!! :-)
Happy Sunday morning!!

Oh, Lordy me
It has been awhile since I posted here. I guess my goals in simplicity took a second seat to some other ongoing issues in my life, and to be bluntly truthful, I struggled with depression for awhile too. But the fog has lifted and I am getting things back on track. The Boy-Child has set his own goals for us buying a house where he can have pets, and go to the school of his choosing. Whilst financially, we could do it now, we have a few things to do around our house first getting it market-ready, and also to save more to buy a house more of our liking. So, I'm setting a general goal of trying to get it on the market around the end of the year. To that end, I am returning to the no buying lunch (for either the BC or myself, and he is even more strict about that than I am!!) and perhaps setting minor goals along the way. But I'm not going to stress myself about that!!
I have managed to de-clutter some more of our life at home, the old cabinet door glass, BC's old bike from when he was 3!!, an old airer, and some old tables of the Girl-Child's. Oh, and of course the large old lounge that went mouldy in the recent rain. Ah, it's feeling so much more free at home!!
So that's where my life's at at the moment, am trying to hit up a night out tonight and a trip to Bunnings, and some chicken wings for dinner. I'm a simple girl at heart!!
